Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Romford

Cosmo World Buffet Romford

4A, The Brewery, Waterloo Rd, Romford RM1 1AU, UK – 01708 733777

My impressions after a first time visit with a group of colleagues. Wide variety of food, Asian, Italian, American etc, looking good but tasting reminiscent somehow of a heated supermarket ready meal, therefore not as good as it looked. In my opinion they may have used plenty of sugar and (I think) flavour enhancers like MSG. We were a big group of people having a great time so we were not too picky. Atmosphere was a good although I couldn’t shake off the canteen feeling. Will I repeat? No. I am not a big fan of eat-as-much-as-you-can style places. Will I recommend it? Yes, if you are not too picky about food quality and quantity is king. Otherwise go eat somewhere else.

First time here....table booked but not ready, had to wait 20 minutes, sat to eat at 19:50 not the 19:30 we had booked. With an advertised closing time of 22:00 we were told that there would be no time limit for us to eat etc... however, at precisely 21:15 a waitress came over and advised the buffet would close at 21.30. Food was reasonable over all, Chinese dishes are better than the Indian, however dishes are left to grow old and crusty. Tables weren't the cleanest, and the floor a little "sticky". Not the worst buffet restaurant, and defi lately somewhere to keep in mind, but not going to be a regular place to go to.

Sukhothai Restaurant

155 High St, Hornchurch RM11 3YD, UK – 01708 478885

Pros: Tasty Thai food, good portions, reasonable price, friendly staff, well decorated and styled. Cons: Waiters were friendly but hard to get a hold of at times (it wasn't so busy). Venue was a bit too cold and could use the heat turned up a bit (some of us kept our jackets on because it was too cold)

Food was fine. Cooked well. I was rather suprised to see that all the waitresses were lady boys. Wasnt expecting that when i walked in. 🙈

Shish Meze Restaurant

2 Berther Rd, Hornchurch RM11 3HS, UK – 01708 475858

My experience today was beautiful... it was my son’s 18th birthday and he had an amazing time. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable... Even though they were busy and we didn’t have a reservation they still found us a seat. The staffs came around to make sure we had everything we needed. They even had conversations with the kids... It was worth every penny.

Really enjoyed the food but jusy too noisy for me and my friend. Music loud so people shouting to be heard. Very busy! We were lucky to get a table as spur of moment decision to eat out but they kindly accommodated us. Staff really nice, friendly and efficient. Bit too efficient cleaning my half of the table while my friend still eating. Not impressed with that but still enjoyed the food.... book in advance! Party atmosphere on the Friday we visited maybe different other times.
